Distributive Property

The Distributive Property is a tricky law to master! One thing to remember is that 'distribute' means to hand out, to spread, or to give away.  If you keep that definition in mind, it may help you remember what the Distributive Property/Law is.

Happy Monday!

I'm guessing you all woke up ready to start your Monday like this?!  Thanks Mrs. Wenstrom for the pick me up video.

Preston and Greg's Weekly Update....

Hello to the kids of Mrs. Clayton’s class, including  Greg and I. Today we will be discussing about Puzzles (Math) P.E., and Word Study. So I hope you have fun reading!

Puzzles was really fun, because we learned new properties such as Associative Property,  Identity Property, etc. They can get really tricky. I haven't even memorized them. The easiest property is the Zero Property and the Identity Property. There are 5 property’s in all.

P.E. was also fun, we played a game (We forgot the name of the game). On the rock climbing wall.  The class was allowed to put up magnets on the wall and try to get others down .  We would put them in really little metal holes, and the second thing that was different was that we actually got to do aerobatics. The last thing that we were able to do was the yoga station.  Yoga was actually fun as well as aerobatics. We also got to play Just Dance.   I hope everybody enjoyed P.E.

In Word Study, we are  trying to figure out what words came later in the English history. Then  for homework we had to find six words that were made later than 100 years ago. If they weren’t there when our parents were children like us, we would ask them the words. When we were in school we were trying to figure out what were these people saying in a picture. For an example the Ipad was made in 2010. I even learned words that I didn’t know. We got to do some the stuff with partners. That was a really fun part of the day for the class. I hope the class liked it like we did.

We had a really marvelous week in Mrs. Clayton’s class. It was a busy week, but we mostly got everything done, but in the week we learned a lot to. So I hope everyone had a good week. Sadly if you didn’t get your work done you had homework, but that many people did that. Like I said I hope you guys had a marvelous week.

Noemi and Jade's Weekly Update...

Hello, this is Jade and Noemi, and we’re from Mrs.Clayton’s class. We are doing the Weekly Update for this week. We hope you all will enjoy!

One of the things that was outstanding this week was science lab with Mr.Kimzey. We conducted a really cool experiment. The materials were yeast, sugar, hot water, balloon etc. We first added yeast, sugar, and hot water in the first boiling flask. Then we mixed it. After that, we put a balloon on the boiling flask. We waited and waited. Then, the balloon started blowing up because we added sugar and the yeast ate the sugar so it got activated. In the other boiling flask, we did not add sugar so it did not blow up. It was so much fun.

Another thing that we really enjoyed was photo day. One reason we really enjoyed it, was that we got to dress up in pretty outfits. Another reason we enjoyed photo day was that we could also see the pretty outfits everyone wore for their photo.

The last amazing thing we did this week was Ice Cream Genre Challenge. One reason we really liked it was that it gave us a chance to explore genres we would have never touched. We also really liked that the prize was an ice cream party because both Jade and I really like ice cream. We also like that eight is a reasonable amount of books to read in twelve weeks.

Sadly, this week has come to an end and so has our weekly update. This week has been really fun in Mrs.Clayton’s class. I hope you enjoyed reading this as much as Jade and I have enjoyed sharing the best parts of our week. Have a fantastic weekend!

Amber's Picture Prompts

Thanks for the interesting Picture Prompt Amber!

Time to Avatar...

Blog avatars are visual representations of authors that appear when they do things on blogs, such as comment or post something. They help identify posts and comments as belonging to someone and they help readers to “know” the writer better by giving them a visual to go along with a screen name.

You have five minutes to look through the following avatar sites. Think about how the avatar styles match your personality, hobbies, etc. Then pick one and create your avatar.
