Visiting Author, Harry Bliss

Just a reminder that Harry Bliss, our PTA sponsored Illustrator in Residence, is working with us in our art class THIS Thursday.  Yippee! Parents are invited to attend any of the sessions that are being offered. You may link to his schedule here. Don't forget that his books (which can be signed and inscribed) are available for purchase in the library. Here's the book order link.

  1. I cant wait to meet Harry Bliss I have read some of the books that he illastrated/wrote and they are amazing. I think that my favorite one might be diary of a fly. Actually, now that I think about it, I think its diary of a worm because that one has a lot of detail and funny illastrations. Also it was the first one that was read to me.

    1. I can't either, "Diary of a Worm" is one of my favourite books from when I was younger. I herd he will sign anything. I have a friend that got a tennis ball signed by Mr. Bliss. I also really like his illustrations, THEY ARE SO AWESOME!! I really want to get his signature. The background in one of his books are actually chairacters from other famous comics. That is so smart of him. Most people don't notice the background

  2. Beatrice took the words out of my mouth. All of the books he wrote are fabulous! I love it when the school invites authors to come and show us their work. I also like to know all of their technique to help improve our work as well. Mrs. Thompson told us that he gives out signatures to!!! You can bet I will certainly get one.

  3. I agree with Beatrice and Anushka. He really is a fabulous author and illustrator. I read Diary of a Worm with my sister, and I think that it is an awesome picture book. But I also can't wait until he works with us in art. I love it when we have illustrators that do that.

  4. I can't wait to meet him either! I never really read who the illustrator is. I pay more attention to who the author is! I also agree with Ryan that diary of a worm is or was one of my favorite books! I remember getting all the diary books and having my mom read them all to me when I was going to bed! I also remember half of them! I also remember laughing at all of the pictures on the front cover! I'm totally going to let him sign something of mine!

    1. What a sweet memory Alexa! I'll bet your mom remembers that too. If you still have his books, you should bring them in tomorrow for him to sign.
