Volunteer Service Opportunity

Over the Thanksgiving break, a team of 25 SAS teachers will be going to Siem Reap as part of a Caring for Cambodia (CFC) Teacher Training project. This year our teachers will be sharing teaching methods in the subject of science with the Cambodian teachers. In the past we have shared information about hygiene and have distributed “hygiene kits”. These kits were a huge success and much needed in the community. We would sincerely like to continue this act of kindness.

How can you HELP? Our goal is to create and transport 1500 hygiene kits to Siem Reap. If you would like to participate please have your child bring in the following by Friday, November 15th.

1 bar of soap 1 small washcloth
1 comb 4 toothbrushes
1 large tube of toothpaste

  1. This is one of my favorite things about this school! We do so many charities to help people in need. I think this a great idea that also feels good. The children are so happy yet they don't get as much as we do. I am definitely bringing in the contents of a hygiene kit so they can also somewhat experience our everyday life. I love this idea!!!

    1. I also think this is a great idea. It is good to help the kids in need. The kids really like the hygiene a LOT more than us. We use it everyday. We get a chance to help the kids in Cambodia just by donating a few things we use. It is a really simple thing to do, yet we are helping the kids a lot.

  2. I love this idea too. I remember making the kits in first, second, and fourth grade! It was soooo much sorting the things out and we ended up having A LOT of kits.

  3. I am so bringing these supplies! I might even bring three or four times as much supplies than we need. Like Anushka said, it is great that our school has a lot of charity's for those people in the world that have needs. But, again like what Anushka said, whenever you do things like this it makes you feel happy and you feel great! Like me, I feel these things after I have done a lot of charity work. But I am definitely going to help! Lastly, imagine how precious it is to see the kids faces when they get their very first comb, soap and toothpaste. They would be SO happy.

    1. I am definitely bringing these things, too. Like Amber said, this will make these kids and their families so happy to get one of these hygiene kits. It makes me feel good to know that I can help make a difference.
