Luis and Young Seo's Weekly Update

Welcome to Clayton Network™ starring the very famous Young Seo and the super cool Luis. We loved our week because: First, a new kid came to our class, named Alex. Second, Mr. Filice taught us about the 5 things that people need in life, and third we had Science Lab. We hope you enjoy our weekly update! This week, Alex came to Mrs. Clayton’s class! We would like to welcome Alex to our class (clap for Alex please). We were so excited to see and meet Alex. Some of the boys volunteered to create a sign to make Alex feel welcome. Alex moved from Boise, Idaho. So he probably likes likes the University of Idaho Vandals from american football. Idaho is a long way from here! We hope that Alex is enjoying this school, we all know what he felt moving here (nervous). Hopefully that Alex will get used to SAS soon.
In Counseling, we learned about five things you need for life. Those five things are: power, belonging, freedom, survival, and fun. Mr. Filice told us that most adults think that fun is not very important. If you don't have fun then you’ll have more stress. We both agree that without fun we’ll get mad more often. What Mr. Filice means by freedom is that you get to choose we get to choose our own choices. For example, kids don’t get freedom to choose if they want to move, or go on vacation. Survival is eating, sleeping and being safe. We don’t have to worry about those things except maybe sleeping. Power basically means that people notice that you are good at something.  Lastly, belonging means that you have friends and family.
In Science Lab we created elephant toothpaste! Sadly there were no elephants around the science lab. Anyway, we thought this was the coolest experiment so far. When we mixed the mixture of yeast and hydrogen peroxide into the mixture of 45 mL of water and 5 mL of dish soap, it caused a chemical reaction. It made a toothpaste looking substance jumping out of the 1000 mL graduated cylinder. After that we got to touch the elephant toothpaste, it felt very warm, squishy, and foamy.

Thank you for tuning in to Clayton Network™. We both hope that you enjoyed our Weekly Update about our new student Alex, Counseling, and creating elephant toothpaste. We hope you have a wonderful wacky weekend! Tune in next week to hear from the cool Mychal and the awesome Harrison.
