  1. I think it might mean that teachers will try their best to teach you something but you will have to try hard to figure out what the teacher is teaching. Another meaning might be that teachers will teach you something and it is your choice to try learn it.

    1. I agree with Young Seo about his meaning. In my words it means that teachers the subjects and the note taking strategies. You have to make a choice to learn it or you don't. Learning is the first step. Applying it to real life is walking through the open door.

    3. I think you're right, Young Seo. Teachers lead the way, but you still have to go forward. I think that this is a very inspirational saying, because some of the sayings that Mrs. Clayton puts up don't make much sense, but to me this one really applies to real life.

  2. This is a really great quote. I think that it means that it's up to you. Like Young Seo and Mychal said, it is your choice if you want to go on. Teachers (and others also to be honest) are trying to help you get a good future and understand many things, but you must go through the door and achieve it. No one can go through the door for you, just like know one can help if you choose to stay behind. Learning is a very important step in life, so teachers are teaching you and opening the door, and you must take in all the skills and continue on with life.

  4. I think this means that teachers help, but in life you need to do things by yourself. I really like this quote because it's a fact. Almost like what Mychal said once the teacher opens the door you can take it or leave it. So I thought this quote taught us a lot.

  5. I think this means that teachers show you how to do things, but you have to do them on your own. That is true because your teachers and parents will not be here to help you with every step. This proverb is very true.
