What an amazing experience we had today at the Christalite Methodist Home! There was Christmas singing, Santa hat decorating and a whole lot of smiles. We're learning that with service learning, we get out of the experience what we put in. And these kids sure put a lot in today!
Oh how much fun it was. Who knew being able to work with other people could be so much fun? I am so glad that we are coming back next year! I can't wait! Lots of the elders seemed like they enjoyed decorating the Santa hats. That's good! CMH, here we come! (Next year. Blehhhhhh!)

DeleteI think that this experience was fun and it made us all more comfortable around old folks. It also gave us a chance to think about how lucky we were compared to how unfortunate they were. I think that everyone had fun and are exited to go back and meet the people that they liked. I know I am! Some of our partners gave us the hats that they made and were generous that we were there and that they could do arts and crafts for once.
