I had this video sent to me and thought it was INCREDIBLE!! Then I put my thinking cap on and wondered if it was in fact real. I mean, it looks real and one would hope that something like that could happen. What do you think?? Share your ideas and think about how could you figure out if it's real or fake??
It looks real, but now that I think about it, what are the chances that this is real? I mean, look at how far those baseball players are. I don't know much about baseball, but I think that it might be fake.
ReplyDeleteI agree Beatrice, it looks real but at the same time it looks fake. The recorder shakes the camera like the recorder is scared. That quick reaction was like from no where. I really like this video. After all the times I have seen this video, I think it is fake.
DeleteI agree with both of you it looks real but it's probably fake. Just by looking at the ball it doesn't look real. Nobody just starts talking to a reporter and then catches a ball going like 50 mph. That's crazy.
DeleteI also agree with you because who would even think to look behind them if they were in an interview? What he did was turn around at the exact moment and catch a ball. Not real I tell you.
DeleteI love this video. I have seen it before and it never get's old. I think that this video is real. It's crazy how the reporter doesn't even flinch. The baseball player has super fast reactions to catch that ball. If I was there I would run away from the ball.
ReplyDeleteI am not so sure Mrs.Clayton. It looks real, but if you look closely once the guy in the background hits the ball, it goes more to the left of Evan if you were standing in his position.(it was like a boomerang) So they could have set it up, like the guy in the background hit it, then someone behind Evan that you couldn't see caught the ball, then through it at Evan Longoria. But I don't know, it looks real and it looks fake. But to me mainly it is fake.
ReplyDeleteI also think it is fake because how can you really have that fast of a reaction even when you have your back to the ball and you are talking to a reporter?
DeleteSo whether you think it's a hoax or not, my question remains. How do you think you can find out???
ReplyDeleteI think it's fake because, like Harrison said, the reporter didn't even flinch. She just turned and looked at the ball. Also, he didn't show almost any reaction, he only shook his hand and told them to keep it on the field.
ReplyDeleteI also think it is fake because number 1. the reporter barely flinched, number 2. The guy who hit the baseball with the bat didn't come to check if the reporter was O.K. Number 3. If you look carefully you can see that the ball made an almost impossible curve. Also why would you interview someone at a baseball field. I went to different websites I saw that the video was just a commercial for something.
ReplyDeleteI completely agree with you, Young Seo. Another reason why it is fake is there is a huge jerk of the camera, so you can't see him catching it.
DeleteThis is so amazing! If this were true, then how could the man suddenly turn away from his interview and catch the ball at the exact time. Either this is a coincidence or this was really a hoax
ReplyDeleteI went to a website that tells you if a rumor or story is true or false:
ReplyDeletehttp://www.snopes.com
It is FALSE! It was made as an ad for Gillette. Gillette's logo is on both sides of his head. If you look close enough, you can see Gillette signs on the roof's facade.
You got it Declan! Way to do some investigating kiddo!
