Gong Xi Fa Cai!

Chinese New Year is nearly here!  This Friday, January 31st many Chinese will celebrate the new year on the lunar calendar.  In preparation for the wonderful festivities, here are some sites to help you gain a better understanding of the significance of this holiday. Gong Xi Fa Cai!

The Holiday Spot - Lots of great information here with links to CNY history, traditions, zodiacs, festivals, music and more
- Apples4Teachers - Find out which zodiac animal you are
- The Chinese Calendar - Learn more about what the Chinese calendar looks like, how it's calculated, when it started and
what is so strange about the year 2033.
- The British Council offers up this story site that has cute little cartoon character animations explaining CNY.  You need to solve the jigsaw puzzle before you can get into the story!

    1. They helped me to find new facts about Chinese New Year and what they did in Chinese New Year. I also liked the calendar and learned the year for them and everything they did.
