  1. I was super-duper scared when putting in these answers. Oh, I can already feel butterflies in my stomach! When Mrs. Clayton said to get out our computers, I was shaking everywhere! I was anxious to see who was going to be in student council. I really liked how we had to push ourselves to be in student council. We couldn't just say, "Root for me because I'm a good person", but we really had to go in deeper. The thing that I didn't like was that only three people tried out. As you can see me, Alyssa, and Jade. I didn't like that two people were going to be like yay, and one person was going to be sad. Unfortunately, Alyssa and I got in, but I felt really bad for Jade. I hope that she can be in another student council in 6th grade.
After I got off the bus that same day, I decided that I wanted to act like I didn't get in to my mom. (It's because we practiced a lot and my mom was also anxious to see who was going to get in.) I went to my bed room and started fake crying and my mom really thought that I didn't get in, but then after about one minute was up I couldn't keep it a secret any more and I rolled on my side and said, "Kidding! I got in!". My mom had a look on her face that was happy and sad. She was sad because she started to wonder, "Who didn't get in." Then we both started feeling really bad for Jade. That's why I wish she won't give up faith now!

    1. I totally agree! When I was trying I felt like I was going to explode. I didn't really work that hard on my speech and I didn't do that good. I also hope that Jade try's out again and wins!

    2. That vote was crazy. I was even shaking when I pressed submit on the computer. I hope that Jade wins next time.

    3. I agree, I was SO nervous during my speech, too. I'm sure that Jade will get into the Student Council if she tries again. I will try my best as a Student Council member this semester, though!

    4. I was super nervous too. Good job Alyssa and Julia. You guys got in. I really liked both of you guy's speech. I was really good and stated good reasons why you guys would be a good student council rep. I will try out for student council in 6th grade. I am really glad that I tried out because I was scared and did not want to do it at first but then I realized that it is better to try first and I did. When I went home, my dad asked me if I got in the student council and I said no. I was really sad but me, my dad, and my mom thought it wasn't a big deal and I always have a another chance.

Just like Julia said, we couldn't way "because i'm awesome" so it was hard to come up with a speech but it really is just like the persuasive writing pieces that we all wrote so That made it a little easier. I was glad that I was able to do all that for the speech and I am actually proud of myself because I was able to try a new thing. Again, congratulations to Alyssa and Julia! ( Applause please)

    5. I agree! When I try to get into things I always feel so nervous and starting to go a bit crazy about it. But once you start to read aloud your speech you realize that it isn't that bad. Also just a little congratulation to our new student council members Julia and Alyssa! Lastly Jade, you did a really good job on your speech! I know what it's like to want to get into something so bad, but you don't get in. So don't worry Jade you did a really good job!

    6. I'm SO glad that Jade isn't mad and/or sad. I was really scared the next day that Jade was going to come in and not talk to me, but now that I read all of these comments, I think that Jade has regrown her confidence. I love to hear what Jade did when she got home because that gives me idea's for the future. I'm REALLY super duper glad that Jade is not upset, and I'm also happy that she will try out for student council in 6th grade!

  2. I totally agree too. I was very hard to choose who to vote for, because all three speeches were great and super well organized. You could tell that all three girls had taken a long to time to practice and put in a lot of effort. All three of them were great!

  3. I agree, Bea. I couldn't make up my mind about who to vote for. Julia, Alyssa and Jade did a fantastic job! Sadly, only two of them could get chosen. Good job girls. I agree with Julia that, Jade shouldn't be upset, she can always try out next year.
